Vacations are something that everyone needs, but many people choose not to take them because of the cost involved. When you have a family, the cost can be even more prohibitive. Aloha Vacation Villas understands this concern, so we have compiled a list of some of the benefits for renting a villa to help your family save money, as well as enjoy a more comfortable stay in Kapalua Bay. Continue reading to learn about these benefits and then call us to reserve your space today.

Kitchen Space

While the idea of cooking and preparing meals on your vacation might not be appealing at first, consider this — fewer meals out means more money in your pocket for other activities. Let’s face it, when you take a family out for a meal, it is never a cheap enterprise. Factor in the cost of the food, drinks, and tip, and you have a hefty ticket for just that one meal. Three meals a day, plus snacks and treats can really add up. When you choose a Hawaiian vacation rental, you will be pleasantly surprised to see the savings add up as you reduce the number of times you eat out. The money you save can be put towards other fun experiences that will create memories your whole family will treasure.

Space

Unlike hotels, your family will have room to spread out and not feel as if you are “on top of one another.” With bedrooms that are separate from the living room, you will have the space you need to unwind after a busy day of fun experiences. Family is great, and spending time together is wonderful, but so is having quiet time to yourself. A Hawaiian vacation rental through Aloha Vacation Villas offers you the benefits of both worlds – a place to be with your family, and a place to have space to yourself.

Laundry

Like meal preparation, doing laundry might be the last thing on your list, if it’s even on there, but think about it this way — access to laundry facilities means packing fewer items. Doesn’t it seem that everytime you have traveled, you have never had enough luggage space, especially after buying some souvenirs? Knowing that you will have access to a washing machine and dryer, will allow you to pack fewer clothing items which means more room for souvenirs and gifts! An additional benefit is that you won’t have to dread opening your children’s suitcases and the smells that are sure to emanate from them!

“Home”

Depending on the rental you choose, you could even have a private balcony, or backyard space. When you take your next vacation, make sure to create the most relaxing time possible by reserving your Hawaiian vacation rental today.

Nakalele Blowhole

Nakalele Blowhole is a natural geyser on Maui’s island where seawater that is trapped in an underwater lava tube seeks a path of escape. If you visit on a day where there is a strong wind and big surf, then you might be entertained with an eruption every few minutes! Make sure to keep the sun to your back so that you can catch a glimpse of the rainbow that appears in the mist of the eruption. An even bigger bonus is that whales are frequently spotted breaching the surface near the blowhole during the months of December through May. Make sure to find dry rocks to stand on and stay a safe distance from the blowhole. For all of its natural beauty, there are dangers to be respectful of.

Black Rock Beach

Black Rock was formed from one of the last lava flows on this side of the island. Situated on the north end of Ka’anapali Beach, it is a beautiful rocky outcrop that is perfect for cliff jumping. While that phrase may make this activity sound scary, this is actually a popular activity for people of all ages. In addition to jumping into the ocean, there is ample opportunity for snorkeling and even spotting some of the famous Hawaiian sea turtles! If you have younger children, you should be aware that the water does get deep pretty quickly and they would probably have more fun playing in the surf at the edge of the sand.

Horseback Riding

Take some time to explore the mountains and experience stunning scenic trails in Maui. Whether you are an experienced rider, or this will be your first time, you are sure to enjoy yourself on any of the tours available on the island. Consider taking a ride on the west side of the island, or even one at sunset. You will be in awe at the beauty of the colors the setting sun creates as it disappears beneath the ocean. These guided tours are friendly for people of all ages, including kids.

Whale Watching

Kohol, or Humpback whales, migrate to the waters off of Maui every winter. If you have never experienced the pleasure of whale watching, then you definitely want to make time for your family to go on a whale watching tour! For the best opportunity see whales, make sure to book your trip between January and March. Humpback whales are in the waters off of Maui in the winter as this is their breeding and birthing time. This is also a time to raise their calves in safety.

With these additional activities that offer fun for the whole family, we know that you are probably getting excited about your trip to Maui. Make sure to book your Hawaiian vacation rental with Aloha Vacation Villas to get the most fun and savings from your trip.

Snorkeling

The Molokini Crater is one of only three volcanic calderas in the world, which makes this snorkeling trip an absolute must on your list of activities to do. There is incredible underwater marine life that is easy to see due to the excellent visibility and water quality in this area. You and your children will be amazed at the beauty of the thriving coral reef that is situated in the center of Molokini, protecting it completely from the ocean waves. There are a number of snorkeling tour companies to choose from when your family is ready to visit this popular tourist destination.

Hiking

Depending on the age of your children, a hike in Iao Valley State Park might be the perfect choice, but if you have younger children, we suggest that you book a Maui Treasure Hunt. This is a hike designed for kids that includes family hiking, swimming in a private lagoon, and searching for pirate booty with a special treasure map. This activity is designed for families with children five years of age and older, as it is three hours long. Make sure to carve out time during your family trip for this fun bonding experience, and don’t forget your camera!

Luau

Nothing speaks to Hawaiian culture like the luau. In ancient Hawaii, men and women did not eat together, but King Kamehameha II removed all of the religious laws that forbade this. In a symbolic act, he ate with women and this began the tradition of the first luau parties. Make sure to plan on attending one of the events at the Old Lahaina Luau. Your family will have the opportunity to experience some of the aspects of traditional Hawaiian culture, such as ceremonies, crafts, and foods. Some of the traditional foods that you can expect to enjoy are Haupia, Kalua pork, poi, and poke. In fact, the pork is cooked in the traditional Hawaiian underground oven known as an Imu. Experience the thrill of fire dancing and the beauty of the hula as you watch professional dancers tell stories of the ocean and creation through dance.
